Dr Anna Piper
Dr. Piper has practiced veterinary medicine in the South Indianapolis/Greenwood area for 23 years. Believing that animals are truly God’s blessing in our lives, her goal with Angel Animal Hospital was to create an environment that the pets, owners, and team members enjoy. Owning a pet has been proven to improve people’s lives and decrease stress. Helping owners to care for these furry family members is a passion for Dr. Piper. She and her husband live on the south side with their two dogs and enjoy many activities and interests like hiking, fishing, gardening, camping, supporting various community organizations, and are strong supporters of the Military, first responders, and the National Guard Association of Indiana.
Dr Maura Lehmann
Dr. Lehmann is a graduate of Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and lives in the Indianapolis area. She joined the Angel staff in the fall of 2015 and is glad to be a part of a comprehensive medical team. Dr. Lehmann enjoys working with exotic and pocket pets in addition to cats and dogs. Her special veterinary interests include feline medicine, radiology, oncology and senior care. When not at Angel, Dr. Lehmann enjoys spending time with her husband, gardening, enjoying the outdoors with her dog “Winnie”, tending to her pet tree frogs and teaching her cat “Steve” new tricks.
Dr Jessica Leto
Dr. Jessica Leto graduated from Louisiana State University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 and practiced several years in Louisiana prior to moving to Germany with her husband to practice for four years. Afterward they returned to the US where her husband, Dr. Timm Gudehus, works at Purdue’s Satellite Veterinary Hospital in Shelbyville, IN as an ACVS accredited equine surgeon. Her special interests are internal medicine, critical care, ultrasound and meeting the challenges of complicated cases. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, working out and training dogs with her husband. Dr. Leto gave a lecture on First Aid to the 2018 Annual Meeting of the North American Deutsch Kurzhaar Club. Dr. Leto and her husband are active members in the NADKC and OG Indy Schutzhund Club and also enjoy wildlife rehabilitation. This has led to a menagerie of chickens, ducks and rabbits being added to their home along with, a horse, Max the cat, and three dogs, Bullet, Django, and Blair.
Miranda Johnson, Registered Veterinary Technician (R.V.T.)
Miranda is a 2011 graduate of International Business College and especially enjoys surgical nursing, behavior and dentistry. She lives in Greenwood with her cat and enjoys hiking and outdoor fun with her rescue dog.
Korri Rutar, Registered Veterinary Technician (R.V.T.)
Korri graduated in 2008 from the International Business College with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. She lives with her husband, 2 children, four cats, and a dog, Lucio. In what little time is “spare” she enjoys reading, training Lucio, spending time with friends and enjoying the outdoors.
Sarah Gonterman, Registered Veterinary Technician (R.V.T.)
Sarah is a 2012 graduate of Plainfield High School and completed her Veterinary Technology degree at International Business College in 2014. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband and her sweet Cairn Terrier “Millie”, hiking, camping, golfing and running. She finished her first Indy 500 Mini Marathon in 2016. She has a strong heart for pet welfare and excels in surgical nursing and client education.
Kendall Short, Registered Veterinary Technician (R.V.T.)
Kendall graduated from International Business College and has lived in Maryland, Kentucky and North Carolina but calls Indiana home! While she enjoys most aspects of being in veterinary medicine, her favorite parts of the job include assisting in surgeries and taking care of hospitalized patients. In addition, her special affinity for anesthesia management and the “Fear Free” practice model make her a valuable part of the team. Kendall loves all animals; big, small and even unique. Her personal hobbies include canoeing, swimming, traveling, and spending time with her two dogs, Jemma and Luna and cat, Stormy.
Faith Clark, Assistant
Faith has been with Team Angel since high school and is currently attending International Business College to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She loves playing with her German Shepherd Dog, Grace. Faith’s special interests include surgical nursing and canine behavior and training.
Scheryl is a Georgia country girl who grew up and married her third-grade sweetheart and relocated to Indiana. While trained in Industrial Sales, Customer Service and Accounting, she is fulfilling her life-long dream of working in an animal hospital. She loves assisting with the patients and the large amount of vegetation that helps make the hospital a relaxing environment. She enjoys riding her motorcycle and four-wheeler, as well as boating and golfing. Her cats, Vester and Dobie Gray, turned ten in 2016 on her birthday.
Amanda McQueen, B.S., Assistant
Amanda is originally from Lawrenceburg, IN and currently lives in the Greenwood area. She achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and is currently working on her Master’s degree in Healthcare Management. She loves all animals but has a special affinity for dogs, marine animals, horses, pigs, and cows to name a few. She lives with her fiancé and three dogs, Stryker, Ellie, and Moose and enjoys being outside, hiking and playing sports.
Tina Moore,B.S. Office Manager
Tina grew up helping out on her grandparents’ farm and has continued to love animals. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Business Finance from Indiana University at IUPUI and has 1 dog, 1 cat and 2 children. Her daughter is finishing her nursing degree and her son is a veterinarian working towards a specialty in ophthalmology. In her free time she enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, and following her husband’s band “Tastes Like Chicken” around the country.
Atoka has worked in the veterinary field for the past 14 years, bringing a deep knowledge base and sense of service to Angel Animal Hospital. Having grown up in Brownsburg, she moved to Indianapolis’ south side about 5 years ago. When she is working, she enjoys spending time with her 2 cats, 2 sons, Jayden and Ryan, visiting parks, reading and crocheting.
Brooke Morphis, CSR
Brooke has always loved animals. It wasn’t until she was in her 30’s that she figured out what she truly wanted to do…..she wanted to work with animals. Brooke received her career diploma from Penn Foster and has worked in the veterinary field off and on for almost 8 years. Her love for animals has led to the acquisition of 11 different species of animals, from horses to sugar gliders, at her home. She has been married for 27 years, has 2 children, a boy 23 and a girl 17. Brooke’s hobbies include horseback riding, learning alongside my daughter, about all of her exotic pets, and reading, when there is time. Life’s biggest joy, right now, is taking her daughter to horse shows and seeing her compete and achieve her goals.
Danielle is a multi talented assistant and customer care specialist who can work throughout the hospital. Whether she is taking care of clients in the front, helping the technicians in the rooms, or caring for hospitalized/ kenneled pets, she treats every patient as if it is her own.
John graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Business degree in Accounting and has extensive experience owning and running restaurants and Veterinary Hospitals for more than 25 years. He is the brainchild and Business Manager behind the innovative and beautiful Angel Animal Hospital. As a member of the business community in Indiana for over two decades, he is recognized as a leading advocate for the support of locally owned businesses and charities. For over 20 years, before it was a popular trend, he has urged local communities to support Hoosier owned companies, understanding that buying from firms owned, managed and operated by out of state corporations instead of the available Hoosier owned companies means sending local money out of state.
John is a true Patriot and avid student of American History with a passion for studying the founding fathers and the American Civil War. He and his wife enjoy touring battlefields, visiting museums and other historical venues important in the history and founding of the United States of America. John is a passionate student and observer of the political scene and has a renewed interest in serving the people of his community. He is preparing to put his personal life on hold to pursue political office reminiscent of our founding fathers.
