Dr Anna Piper
Dr. Piper has practiced veterinary medicine in the South Indianapolis/Greenwood area for 30 years. Believing that animals are truly God’s blessing in our lives, her goal with Angel Animal Hospital was to create an environment that the pets, owners, and team members enjoy. Owning a pet has been proven to improve people’s lives and decrease stress. Helping owners to care for these furry family members is a passion for Dr. Piper. She and her husband live on the south side with their two dogs and enjoy many activities and interests like hiking, fishing, gardening, camping, supporting various community organizations, and are strong supporters of the Military, first responders, and the National Guard Association of Indiana.

Miranda Johnson, Registered Veterinary Technician (R.V.T.)
Miranda is a 2011 graduate of International Business College and especially enjoys surgical nursing, behavior and dentistry. She lives in Greenwood with her cat and enjoys hiking and outdoor fun with her rescue dog.
ASSISTANTS
Scheryl Mosley
Scheryl is a Georgia country girl who grew up and married her third-grade sweetheart and relocated to Indiana. While trained in Industrial Sales, Customer Service and Accounting, she is fulfilling her life-long dream of working in an animal hospital. She loves assisting with the patients and the large amount of vegetation that helps make the hospital a relaxing environment. She enjoys riding her motorcycle and four-wheeler, as well as boating and golfing. Her cats, Vester and Dobie Gray, turned ten in 2016 on her birthday.

JOHN PIPER
John graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Business degree in Accounting and has extensive experience owning and running restaurants and Veterinary Hospitals for more than 25 years. He is the brainchild and Business Manager behind the innovative and beautiful Angel Animal Hospital. As a member of the business community in Indiana for over two decades, he is recognized as a leading advocate for the support of locally owned businesses and charities. For over 20 years, before it was a popular trend, he has urged local communities to support Hoosier owned companies, understanding that buying from firms owned, managed and operated by out of state corporations instead of the available Hoosier owned companies means sending local money out of state.
John is a true Patriot and avid student of American History with a passion for studying the founding fathers and the American Civil War. He and his wife enjoy touring battlefields, visiting museums and other historical venues important in the history and founding of the United States of America. John is a passionate student and observer of the political scene and has a renewed interest in serving the people of his community. He is preparing to put his personal life on hold to pursue political office reminiscent of our founding fathers.

Doctor Piper is incredibly knowledgeable and has helped us quite a bit with routine health and also issues. I think the only concern we have had with theor facility is that... they often seem understaffed. It has been to the point that we have been mistakenly charged for items and services we didn't request. Also, the communication between the vet techs and the front desk has gaps to where we aren't being given the correct items we had to purchase. It's not a deal breaker but it has cause some headaches especially when you spend hundreds of dollars for your pets.read more

My husband and have traveled an hour from home for Kailey Skye, our little Maltese to see Dr. Piper for 2+ years now. And it's worth every mile. We've tried 3 veterinarians... in Columbus, IN and could not find the care and compassion we've experienced with Dr. Piper.An example: when our fur baby had her first dental, we were nervous about how she might tolerate anesthesia. "Nervous" may actually be an understatement. I cried just thinking about it that day. Kailey Skye fared well with the procedure, but she had a tooth removed. We had questions for her doctor, as the cavity was very large, but we never saw her doctor that day. He sent technicians to answer every one of our questions. Back and forth they came and went. People we'd never laid eyes on before.In fact, we had never seen the veterinarian himself, but once. That was the first time we had met him. He was personable. Seemed knowledgeable. And we never saw him again. It didn't matter if we went into the office for an annual checkup or dental surgery, he was elusive. I wrote him about 3 emails over time. He never answered one. I was heartbroken, because Kailey Skye is my first pet and I'd hoped we'd finally found a veterinarian we could partner with in her care. And trust. And I hoped for a tad bit of warmth. But how can you trust someone you never see?As we moved on from his practice, I kindly and thoughtfully noted my disappointment in an email. And wow, he finally wrote back.read more

I had a 13 year old pug who needed to be euthanized and was in some pain and could no longer walk. I called his regular vet hoping to have some type of compassion and help... but no. Gave me appointments for days away nothing immediate. ER was a 4 hour wait plus. I called 6 other vets until my In Laws told me about Angel. I was able to have him scheduled immediately in that morning. I was so relieved. Someone took compassion on an animal in pain.It was a very hard experience for my husband and I and they made it easier. So much so I am going to discuss with my husband to have our lab switched to their vet. I lost hope in the original vet after the lack of concern or help especially since they had just seen him last week and knew the decline happened quickly.Thank you Angel for helping a dog in need with no run arounds for appointments.-Bullis FamilyUpdate: I was so happy to receive a pay print to frame and card. I have 8 Ragdoll Cats and have been taking them to Angel Animal Hospital since they were all kittens. We see Dr. Lembke and she is very thorough with explaining what's going... on with my kitties when there is a problem. And, Dr. Lembke has also called several days after our visit to check on our cat, not just the day after the visit call. Who does that nowadays? I love that it smells nice and clean when I walk in and the atmosphere is amazing! I veered once and returned quickly.read more

Once again Angel Animal Hospital staff and Dr. Piper has been doing a great job taking care of our working cats! They were dumped as kittens, brother and sister! AAH spayed /... neutered and clipped left ear indicating procedure. AAH gives all shots for cats, checks for heartworm, provides preventative for fleas, ticks, heartworm and ear mites. AAH has been there for boarding when needed. They have a great cat facility over looking reception waiting area and giant fish tank! AAH is always clean and smells good! We always recommend them! AAH is a class A 1 animal hospital!read more

I think this hospital is the best I have ever been to. Everyone that I came in contact with was very friendly, educated and helped in some way. Today I received a card... saying how much they enjoyed seeing my adorable Ben. Dr. Atkins and her staff were amazing with my 15 year old dog Daisy! She has arthritis and they got her on medicine to keep her comfortable. I highly recommend them!

I have been taking my cat here for a while now. I really like Dr. Leto. The staff has been nice as well. I will say it is a bit pricey but I am sure you get what you pay... for... I really really wish they took Care Credit or had payment options. My cat needs a surgery and 1300 is not something we just have in our pocket and would be a lot easier on a family to have a Care Credit or payment option. I also wish there was more to help pet owners with very difficult animals to medicate. We have an extremely hard time medicating our new cat and have spent a lot of money on different forms of medications. I have dealt with difficult animals and medicated several but our new cat takes the cake and that can be difficult to explain.read more

For almost 2 months, my poor guy has been through the ringer, I was blessed to have gone to Angel hospital today. My little Shih tzu has been suffering with some neurotic... like behavior and we were trying Prozac and other things and I was previously told by the other vets ( 2 of them) that his blood work was normal etc. Dr Leto wanted to see the blood work. They faxed but not all of the testing, she was not going to let it go without seeing it~ We finally had it faxed over and it WAS NOT NORMAL. She found where it was off. We retested his blood again and compared it and he had worsened (only from 6 weeks before) and then we tested for cushings and he had it. So now, I get to treat his kidney failure and issues and neurological behavioral issues appropriately. WHEN YOU don't trust what is going on with your animal, your little buddy. Then trust your gut and get a 2nd opinion. I did and NOW ~ I have a new Vet. Dr Leto agreed to be Finley's Vet and I am ecstatic. As and Added note~~~ later this evening AFTER 8pm Dr Leto even called me back personally (I had another question); NOW THAT'S SERVICE!!!! Thank you Angels and I do not mind driving from Mooresville to see you!!! I was desperate, they got me in at 230, I was there several hours (testing) and then they sent me home with a solid treatment plan that DID NOT INCLUDE DOPING MY DOG ALL UP! I am not anti-drug. But~ I had a miserable little dude and now he is still stressed but we will be moving in a direction to help him. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!! YES you may wait but you know what they got my little guy in THAT DAY!!! when I needed them.....read more

Best vet office ive ever been to. The staff is great! Very friendly and attentive. The doctors are extremely thorough. They even give you copies of their exam notes. Got us in on short notice to treat our dog's back. The staff are super friendly and babied our him throughout the exam and diagnosis which is what was needed as he was in a... lot of pain and scared. At our previous vet they would just hold him down and examine, which made him freak out more but here they earn his trust and get him to come over to them on his own before getting to work. Love the evening hours as that is super helpful for our work schedule. Fun tropical theme in the lobby too!read more
